1962 FIFA World Cup – Chile
The 1962 FIFA World Cup was held in Chile, between May 30 and June 17. Despite being plagued by rough play and violence on the pitch (most infamously the “Battle of Santiago”), it is remembered for Brazil’s second consecutive triumph, powered by Garrincha’s brilliance after Pelé was injured early in the tournament.
